Mr. Rajinder Gupta, an alumnus of Harvard University, is the Founder and Chairman of Trident Limited, the flagship company of the billion-dollar enterprise known as Trident Group. Formerly Abhishek Industries, Trident manufactures paper and textiles such as towels and yarn. It is among the largest yarn-spinning companies in India and one of the largest terry towel and wheat straw paper manufacturers in the world.
Mr. Gupta’s business acumen has led him to serve in a variety of state leadership roles throughout his career including Vice Chairman of the Punjab State Economic Policy and Planning Board. Today, Mr. Gupta is Chairman of the North India Punjab Engineering College (Deemed University), Chairman of the advisory council for the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, and President of the Punjab Cricket Association. In 2007, Mr. Gupta received the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards granted by the Indian government, for his exemplary work in trade and industry.
Mr.Gupta has been a thoughtful and generous supporter of Cleveland Clinic since 2009. Mr. Gupta also is a founding member of the International Leadership Board, a dedicated group of global leaders with a shared goal of advancing educational and research initiatives at Cleveland Clinic. He is a dedicated ambassador of Cleveland Clinic in India, supporting and promoting increases in collaboration and cooperation in his home country.
